Sharkwater

June 4, 2010 Posted 12:58 pm

Sharkwater is a movie/documentary by Rob Stewart. It is about sharks and how they are dying because of shark finning. There are alot of pictures and clips of sharks dying in the movie which is very sad and shows how much we don’t care about sharks. Sharks only kill about 5 people a year but Elephant and tigers kill 100, yet we rather save them instead of sharks because of movies like Jaws. We kill more sharks than sharks kill us.  Sharks are actually really shy and won’t swim near you if they don’t trust you.

His blog is here and you can read about marine animals a lot in his blog.

Comment if you want to try to save sharks!!!

Class Community Circle

May 31, 2010 Posted 11:31 am

Class Community Circle is when our class sits in a circle and talk about anything we want from our weekend to what we are doing in class. You can only speak if you have the “orb” and you cannot give negative comments.

We also play games such as would you rather… which is when sombody gives two dilemmas and you have to pick the one you would rather do, Zip! Zap! Zoop! where you put you hands together and tilt you hands to a direction and say Zip! If you want to change direction say Zap! and if the person is not beside such as asross from you or beside the person beside you say Zoop! and point to them. Zip! Zap! Zoop! sounds easy but is really hard once you start trying. You have to pay attention at all times or else you will be out. These are really fun games that you should try.

On May 12th,13th and 14th we went to Chung Chao island for camp. Camp was very very fun and we did lots of fun things like going in a pirates cave and biking. We made gorp (Good Old Raisins & Peanuts) and baked bread on a barbecue. We roasted bananas and went rock climbing. I also tie-dyed my socks. :D

At this webisite you can see how much teens text and call people a day. 17 year olds text, instant message and use their cell phone the most.  15 year olds use the landline the most. 12 year olds do the least number of things. I also learnt that boys get and send around 30 texts per day but girls get and send about 80 texts.
